Dr. Leesi Ebenezer Mitee

The author, Dr. Leesi Ebenezer Mitee, holds a doctoral degree (PhD) in international human rights law, legal information technology (legal informatics), indigenous customary law and indigenous rights; Master of Laws (LLM) in comparative law on access to public legal information in the United Kingdom and Nigeria; Barrister-at-Law postgraduate professional legal practice certificate (BL); Bachelor of Laws (LLB); and Higher National Diploma (HND) in town and country planning (urban and regional planning).
He is a Chief Lecturer of Law (the equivalent of Associate Professor of Law) and a former legal research national consultant to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the 1998 PCASED project that provided the juridical foundations for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Declaration of a Moratorium on the Importation, Exportation and Manufacture of Light Weapons in West Africa (31 October 1998). The Moratorium culminated in the making and adoption of the ECOWAS Convention [Treaty] on Small Arms and Light Weapons, their Ammunition and other Related Matters 2006.
Leesi is the pioneer global advocate of the universal recognition of the right of free access to public legal information as a stand-alone or substantive human right and his Human Right of Free Access to Public Legal Information Advocacy website is https://publiclegalinformation.com.
He is an author of law books and academic articles in reputed international journals, including the top-rated German Law Journal (hosted on the Cambridge University Press website) and the European Journal of Law and Technology.
He invented the new human rights-based and public access-compliant huricompatisation model of ascertainment of indigenous customary law, published in Volume 2 of his Human Right of Free Access to Public Legal Information Book Series (https://koinonialegal.com) and he is an advocate of indigenous rights.
